Conversation this evening while my daughter was toodling with the calendar feature on her cell phone:

Me: Oh, what day is my birthday this year?
Daughter: On a Thursday.
Me: Gee, how old will I be this year??
Daughter: I dunno.
Me (to husband): Honey, how old will I be?
Husband: 45.
Me: 45?!?!??!?!?!??! I thought I was 45 already!! I’ve been telling everyone I’m 45 right now! Are you sure?!?!
Husband: Positive. You’re 44 right now, you’ll be 45 on your birthday.
Me: OMG!!! I’ll be a year younger this year!!
Husband: Well, they say that memory is the first to go.
Here’s one for you old timers. ;)

I’ll never see 45 again unless it’s in some other’s face.
You, by contrast, get a “do over.”
How great is that? Make the most of it, rejoice and exceedingly glad.
Happy birthday.

I like blueyes comment. Hahaha!
I can never remember how old I am either–well, unless it is a milestone year that ends in a 0 or a 5.
