Alice Banishes Shopping Anxiety

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Alice.com. All opinions are 100% mine.

Why oh why do I do this to myself? I had to go grocery shopping the DAY before Christmas (we were out of things) and then today. Yikes! The stores are packed! I really, really dislike shopping. Oh getting new stuff is great! šŸ˜€ But beating back the traffic and the crowds, mingling with all the germy people who hack and sniffle… it’s totally distasteful to me. šŸ˜ As a matter of fact, is there any kind of phobia for shopping phobia? Cuz I think I haz it.

A few weeks ago, I discussed a new website I’d discovered: Alice.com. I’d considered dabbling in online shopping for a while, but was never satisfied with what was out there (and some sites charge exorbitant shipping rates, like that website that’s named after the big Brazilian river/rain forest). Alice.com, however, charges nothing for shipping. NOTHING! I just placed my first order there, too. šŸ˜€ It took me a while to create my shopping list, because I wanted to see everything there is to see at Alice. There are some great prices there! And Alice.com has tea! My kids love tea– they spent some time picking out their favorite selections. šŸ˜€ And Alice has peanuts, and toilet paper, and shampoo, and batteries! The prices on batteries are exceptional. Plus, Alice.com applies coupons automatically to any product where it is applicable. This is great, because now I don’t have to spend hours combing through the newspapers for coupons. I’m looking forward to my package. Alice says it should be at my door in 2-6 days!!

Alice.com

I personally recommend Alice.com. I love it! In case you haven’t heard about it, here’s the scoop on Alice.com:

  • Alice.com is an online shopping website. It’s free to create an account.
  • Once you’ve created an account, you can browse “shelves” of products and add stuff you need to your either your shopping cart for checkout, or to your shopping list for later purchases. You can browse store “shelves” by products, by “rooms” (like, browse the products for the kitchen, or for the living room, or for the pet area).
  • You can set Alice to remind you of stuff you’ll need for the future; this is called “Advanced Planning.” For example, let’s say you buy toilet paper today. You figure you’ll need it again in 2 weeks; Alice will remember this and add it to your basket regularly. And coming soon to Alice.com is the ability to auto-ship your future orders! This is amazing– never forget the toilet paper or kitty litter again!
  • Alice has a really nice feature called “Budgeting.” Over time, your orders will be graphed, and you can see and compare your average purchases with others’ purchases, etc.
  • Alice is social! You can create a profile and make new friends in the “Neighborhood.”
  • Alice has a very, very cool affiliate program. I am an affiliate. I can give my readers $10 off your $50 purchase, as well as receive 3% back on my own purchases per year. It’s a generous affiliate program, especially when you consider that the prices at Alice.com are already low, that Alice applies coupons automatically, AND Alice provides free shipping. If you are interested in joining Alice.com through my affiliate program, click on the Alice.com banner in my sidebar. —————>
  • Alice accepts VISA, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. I hope they accept PayPal sometime, too. I’ll have to drop that in the suggestion box.
  • There is NO minimum order at Alice! All orders are shipped free of charge, are delivered UPS, and usually arrive in 1 to 6 days. Alice only works for customers with a U.S. mailing address; they don’t send anything to Alaska and Hawaii, but may introduce it in the future.

Best of ALL these, I think, is that you don’t have to drive to the stores with a million kids in tow to shop for your household needs!! That’s why I think Alice is SO worth it all. Check out the website– ladies, I guarantee you will love Alice.com. I love it! And remember to click the banner if you’re interested in using my affiliate code; it saves us both some cash! Once you join, you can register for your own affiliate code, too. Sweeeet.

I expect my order to arrive this week. I’ll be sure to post an update, so stay tuned!

I’ve got an order coming from Alice.com – I did a lot of comparison shopping and like any other store their prices are better on some things than others. Also they do charge sales tax so I have to take into consideration whether the difference in sales tax versus no sales tax will save me money or cost me money, since most of the on-line stores I use do not charge sales tax or shipping costs. This time around, even with sales tax I saved money over Drugstores.com and ShopRite.

It’s a good source, they have limitations on products, brands, sizes, their prices are not always the best but all in all I will continue to shop there.

Grace, thanks for leaving your experience with Alice.com! I am looking forward to my order very much. There is something kind of thrilling about getting a package in the mail. šŸ˜€

Yes, I did get charged sales tax (I didn’t notice until you mentioned it!), but the free shipping is a big plus for me. I can buy in bulk and not have to pay an arm and a leg. This first order of mine is small (under $40), but I can easily spend $200 at Alice, because I do tend to buy in bulk.
