Just so you know– my web host informed me that they will be undergoing maintenance tomorrow, August 8th, in the morning. This blog will be down for a few hours, hopefully shorter. I apologize for the disruption, but I think it will be brief. Before you know it, we’ll be back up and running (and on a better server, too).
Just thought I’d let ya all know. I’m grateful my web host informed me ahead of time!

I’m a married mom with 4 kids. We live in Upstate New York in an old 1855 house with our five pets (yes, five, *sigh*). Life is never dull, and exciting things just seem to always happen to me... why me... when I'm not running around the house fixing things, I do freelance writing and blogging. My work and opinions have appeared in Salon.com, USAToday, eHow.com, iMedia.com, the Associated Press and I've even been interviewed by TIME and The Wall Street Journal about blogging. Can you believe it?! Here is where I express my zany, creative, motherly side.

Excellent that your host informed you before shutting you down, even temporarily.
I was with E3 Servers for awhile, and they were CONSTANTLY down and even switched (“upgraded”) servers, requiring all my sites to update DNS information, and didn’t tell me!
Shortly after THAT debacle, I left and went to a new company, with which I have had no problems at all (HostGator, if you’re wondering).
Namaste,

I have Whip An Orbit. It’s been up and down with them. My blog is almost never down, but their business number is sometimes out of service, and that makes me uneasy. If they were a little more available, I’d be writing rave reviews about them.
The transition went smoothly– I didn’t even notice that anything was down!
