The Internet has squelched a lot of preconceptions I once had. For example, cat blogs. If you had asked me in the 1990s what a cat blog was, I would have stared at you in complete puzzlement. Even after I’d been around the Internet for a few years, I never dreamed that a person could write, day after day and every day, about his/her pet, and keep the content interesting!
Another preconception: online matchmaking services. I thought it was a total FLUKE. Meet a stranger, someone you have no idea who they are, as a possible companion?! It was… weird. But, wow, I’m starting to really change my mind about it. For one, our society is becoming more and more closed in. We don’t have the social outlets that existed in the “olden” days. And I have a relative who met her man though a dating service– they have been married for almost 15 years now! I hear more and more success stories about people who have found their spouse online. Maybe it has something to do with the success of compatibility, rather then appearance. I think a lot of marriages fail because the young people are distracted so much by appearance and emotion than by the more enduring qualities of companionship and shared interests. Websites like True.com are dedicated to matching compatible people to be, well, true to each other! The nice thing about True.com is that people can search for free before leaping head first. You can search for people of all ages, and by zip code, too! Searching is free, and signing up is free, too!
I think marriage is a very, very serious and honorable institution. You want to make sure you have your head on straight and that you find your true love– so try True.com!
