…but whiskers never fade.
When Livvy was a baby –about 6 or 7 months old– she got a little too close to a burning candle. I know! Yikes! Her eyebrow whiskers got singed just a little, and they shriveled and curled at the tips. It’s been almost a year since that incident, and LOOK! She still has the same old shriveled, candle-singed eyebrow whiskers!
Is it normal for a cat to cling to her whiskers this long? I have another cat, Milo– he sheds EVERYTHING about five times a year. I could have rebuilt two or three cats from him already, the cat loses so much hair and whiskers! Make no mistake– Livvy sheds a good deal of hair now, too. After I took these photos, there were big gobs of white silvery fur all over my camera lens, EW! It’s just her singed whiskers that are lasting the lifetime… ? Weird!

I’m a married mom with 4 kids. We live in Upstate New York in an old 1855 house with our five pets (yes, five, *sigh*). Life is never dull, and exciting things just seem to always happen to me... why me... when I'm not running around the house fixing things, I do freelance writing and blogging. My work and opinions have appeared in Salon.com, USAToday, eHow.com, iMedia.com, the Associated Press and I've even been interviewed by TIME and The Wall Street Journal about blogging. Can you believe it?! Here is where I express my zany, creative, motherly side.
