Chilly from On the Bricks has tagged me for a meme– the 6 Unspectacular Quirks About You Meme. Chilly, dear…. my WHOLE LIFE is unspectacularly quirky. Where on earth do I begin?!? Hmm.

1. I sometimes make up words, like “unspectacularly.” Not a word. Until now.

2. I love the starry skies at night. I could lay outside all night just looking at them and pondering them.

3. I love planting things: trees, flowers, vegetables, fruits, anything. My dream is to have my entire property one great big garden, with a house in the middle. A renovated house.

4. I always default to natural remedies first thing. Got a headache? Don’t take aspirin; go lay down in a dark room. I am very slow to reach for chemicals and pharmaceuticals, like Leptovox. I even clean my house with natural cleaners (like Borax, baking soda, pine cleaner).

5. I sleep with a pillow over my head, to block out light and sound. I am a very light sleeper, and the slightest sounds wake me up.

6. I hate bats. They flap around and bite. I hate them. But they love me! They always dive-bomb my way; maybe it is because I have a slightly higher body temperature than normal, and they detect the heat. But I cower from them and my husband must rescue me, even if it means calling him home to take care of it!

So there are the unspectacular quirks. Now I get to inflict 6 others with this meme! *cackles* Of course, I will be nice and say that you are under no obligation to do the meme, but in all actuality I will cry for days and refuse to read your emails if you don’t. ;) If you have already done this meme and have exhausted your supply of quirkiness, then just feel free to link to your old post, or ignore my pleas.

This was kind of fun. It was a little more complex than some of the others I’ve tried.

You Are An INTJ

The Scientist

You have a head for ideas - and you are good at improving systems.

Logical and strategic, you prefer for everything in your life to be organized.

You tend to be a bit skeptical. You’re both critical of yourself and of others.

Independent and stubborn, you tend to only befriend those who are a lot like you.

In love, you are always striving to improve your relationship.

You have strong ideas of what love should be like.

At work, you excel in figuring out difficult tasks. People think of you as “the brain.”

You would make an excellent scientist, engineer, or programmer.

How you see yourself: Reasonable, knowledgeable, and competent

When other people don’t get you, they see you as: Aloof, controlling, and insensitive

Oooooo so I am a “scientist.” Wow, lol, first time I’ve been called that! I’m not very fond of science, but I absolutely LOVE law, history, and philosophy, and home gyms, so maybe it’s all related. Cute quiz! But a total time waster! :S Back to work for me.

Ugh, what a lousy day. Could not drop Entrecards or anything. I went to bed about 1am this morning, had to get up at 4am to take husband to work in a borrowed car. (We are down to one car, and that was in the shop until this evening. Boy, it’s great to have our own car back, as much as I appreciate our neighbor lending his. We have great neighbors!)

Anyway… after taking Hubs to work, I got home feeling lousy, but couldn’t get back to sleep. At 5am, an advertiser contacted me, wanting to use two of my blogs for guest posts– it was a great way to make some cash and I didn’t have to write anything! His writing is not my style, so the posts look out of place, but I have been so lethargic that I don’t care, lol. :-p

Anyway, I am venting…

I managed to nab a $50 opp at PayPerPost this evening, but as I did some research, I discovered the opp (which had to be “positive review”) was for a loan shark company that has been shafting people and stealing money from their bank accounts. They wanted some positive reviews to get better results for them on Google searches. What a load of garbage. I had to turn the money down. I just could not in good conscience promote such a company, even if they say they are changing their spots. The stuff I found about them was scathing. I was very sad to lose the $50, but I knew I would not be able to sleep nights if I had promoted them. Oh well! Maybe I’ll find some good honest opps about HDMI cable or something. :D

Anyway, to you Entrecarders faithfully visiting my blog, I’ll be back in business tomorrow. For now, I’d better get to bed before I lose it! Good night! :-D

What do you do when you’ve become too popular? I have a problem…

Someone Stumbled one of my posts with StumbleUpon. For the past four days, I have seen phenomenal traffic. Check this out.

I usually get 300-350 hits a day. As you can see, the past few days I’ve been getting far more. I was reveling in all that traffic until today when I got this email from my web host:

Your account has been causing really high server loads the past 4 days…

Can you please work on fixing this issue? If it’s not fixed I’ll have to suspend the site as it’s causing the server to crash at certain times of the day.

OK, a paid-blogger NEVER wants to see those words “suspend” at any time. My web host is being really generous, giving me time to work things out. I’ve heard horror stories of other hosts who just rip the rug out from under you, so I am thankful they have given me a little breather.

But what do I do? I am on a “budget” plan, and I’ve used up half my bandwidth for the month. I don’t want my blog to be causing everyone else’s blogs to crash… What would you do in such a case?

I’ve offered to write a post for the hosting company free of charge; I’ve offered to remove the Stumbled post for a while (but would that help? people would still be hitting my blog), and I’ve assured my host that Stumbles are usually temporary. How do you stop thousands of people from visiting your blog??

I hope that my conciliatory offers are acceptable…. but I am at wit’s end. What a day it’s been! First, my htaccess wipe-out at my other blogs, now this! I just wanna go to bed and give a good cry! :(

UPDATE: I called my web host and they are so wonderful! They are willing to work with me, and they understand that Stumbles are usually temporary. I have some homework ahead of me, though– the theme I am using is a little too beefy so I’m going to have to shop for a slimmer theme. Tomorrow I’m going to check the stats with my web host, and see how things go. So now I can get some sleep tonight, at least! what a day, whew!

Please keep the family of the blog Survival of the Furriest in your prayers. The youngest member of the family, 3-month-old Violette, died from a severe fall yesterday. The blogosphere is mourning. God be with you, family.

There’s more information at the Cat Blogosphere, including ways you can help raise funds for the medical and funeral fees, and participate in an auction and a memorial quilt.

But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 4:13, 14.

My daughter made her first pie yesterday, so I thought I’d brag. It’s black raspberry pie– YUM! The kids picked berries like maniacs this year. We have a blooming berry patch.

The crust is a pre-made one, so we cheated a little. But I’ve been baking pies for years and they don’t look this good. We went easy on the sugar, and added extra berries to the mix. It turned out beautifully!

THAT’S ME. Look out! I’ve been leaving comments on others’ blogs! That’s not so bad, but I am in a terribly grouchy mood today, so my comments are quite acerbic. UGH. It’s bad enough to be grouchy… then I have to go and publicize it to all the world when I leave comments that have that abrasive edge to it… sighhh. It’s stories like this that make me very upset. I’d better settle down before I break out into anger-inflicted acne

So if you are a victim today, I’m sorry I have been grouchy. But I’m not sorry I left a comment. Cuz some of you have had some really great posts today! :D

GRRRRRR. If you are trying to access my other websites, New York Traveler.net, New York Renovator, and Mrs. Mecomber’s Scrapbook… they’re down again. :(

Oh, I just checked and now they are up. But my template to New York Traveler.net is a little screwy. Wha? Any geeks out there have any suggestions? I contacted my webhost (Bluehost) and asked them why my template was messy. They said that when the server was down and restored, the company must have used a backup form to restore my blog. But… these changes in my template are not from backups. The only way these things could have been altered is for someone to tinker with my stylesheet of my blog theme. Is this possible??

I don’t know what it is with me and things like this. I always seem to have problems when everyone else is sailing smooth waters and tech help is more concerned with sexy shoes. :(

UPDATE: Bluehost informed that they did not have to restore anything with backups. So…. how did my template get changed? And why?

…all night is that I am the first to leave a comment on many of the blogs.

Don’t know why I couldn’t sleep a wink last night. May be the medicine I’m taking. The sun is up and so am I, still. Sigh.

Why have I been wasting my life dropping Entrecards with Firefox when there is Opera?!?! I used Opera to drop cards today and it took me a little over an hour to do 300. with Firefox, it takes me 3-4 hours!!! I always get the widget missing, or the page doesn’t load and then I have to keep reloading and reloading, or Firefox will just crash on me.

I used Opera and not once did the browser crash! I had to reload only TWO times for 300 drops, and widgets didn’t show up on about 5 blogs. I was awed. It’s fast, it’s easy! And when I clicked on a widget (yes, I’m a widget-clicker), the new page actually LOADED. That almost NEVER happened with Firefox. Wow. I think I love Opera. Do they have promotional pens, ‘cuz I’d sure pass ‘em around. The only thing I don’t like about Opera is that the skin is ugly and that the scrolling is a little jerky. I’m working on that.
