I missed the last two MM, one on purpose (didn’t like the questions) and then on accident (it was Wednesday before I realized it had been Monday and Tuesday). I figured if I didn’t do today’s, I’d lose my momentum and get lost in the Manic Monday Time Warped Black Hole and never do it again. So, well, here goes!
Are you a talker or a listener? Is it ever possible to really be both?
I am both. So yes, it is possible.
It depends on the situation, as well. I’ve been a talker when I should have been a listener, and vice versa. But there have been those glorious moments when I was a talker when talking helped a situation, and when I was a listener and listening aided someone. I try to be sensitive and walk in the Spirit, as the scriptures say.
Do you think God has a sense of humor?
Absolutely. For one, God created everything so that means humor; two, he created people which must give everyone in heaven a really good guffaw from time to time.
Do you believe in love at first sight? Have you ever experienced it?
I don’t know about this one. “Love” needs defining here. Is love to be defined as “lust”? If so, then yes, there is lust at first site. With “love” as in agape, that Greek word for unconditional love? Yes, I think this can be at first site, too, although it is rarer. Take, for example, when a mother lays eyes on her newly-birthed baby. That newborn looks like a pink prune and screams his head off, but mom loves him. And that goes back to question number 2– proof that God has a sense of humor, lol.

It’s Memorial Day, so I’m not doing much blogging today; plus, I’m not feeling so well today :-p so I am late with my Manic Monday. I’ll do what I can and still make it interesting. The questions are very thoughtful; it’s just that I don’t feel like thinking today.
Do good things come to those who wait?
Yes.
Your best friend’s spouse is being unfaithful. Would you tell your friend? If so, how?
Of course I’d tell my friend!! I cannot for the life of me comprehend how “friends” would keep such things from each other! I’d get a babysitter for all the kids, go to her house, and have a heart-to-heart chat. Here’s hoping I’d never have to do it, though. I’d probably kill the cheatin’ creep first.

(I told you I wasn’t feeling well today!)
Which part of your body do you like the least? Would you change it through plastic surgery, if possible?
Hello, Lord? Can I get a refund?
Actually, I’m looking forward to that day when mortality will be swallowed up by life. And no, plastic surgery could never cut it. Maybe some nice, quality fitness equipment… but who’ll need fitness equipment in heaven???
Get it, “cut it”? HAHAHHA!
OK I go back to bed now.

It’s Monday! You know what that is! Woooooo!
OK, so maybe I am a little over excited. But I am sitting in the orthodontist’s waiting room, and I have nothing better to do right now! (Thank God for wireless).

If you knew that every minute of the next 24 hours of your life would be recorded on camera is there anything you would change about your habits?
Yeah, like, all of them, lol. No, actually– aren’t ALL our outdoor activities being monitored anyway?! I hate all those creepy cameras at the traffic lights, at WalMart, at the library…. I’ve seen those “reality” videos on TV before, where people agreed to be monitored so experts could watch them and help solve their problems. I’m always amazed at the nasty and yukky things people continue to do even with a camera aimed at them. Me, I’d be nicer, and probably neater. Then again, something might get into me to stick out my tongue and make goofy faces. Depends on how much coffee I’d have had.
If you could take a one-month trip to any single destination in the world and money is not a consideration, where would you go?
This is an easy one, because I’m always dreaming about it. New Zealand. Greenland. New York City. Washington, D.C. And Antartica, just to say I’d been there. Oh nuts. Did that sentence say “single destination”?
What is the best example of “perfection” that you can think of?
Jesus. He’s the finest, most loving person, and I am so not. I read about what He did and what He said and it continues to blow my mind away.
The conqueror Napoleon had said of Jesus, “I know men and I tell you that Jesus Christ is no mere man. Between Him and every other person in the world there is no possible term of comparison. Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne, and I have founded empires. But on what did we rest the creation of our genius? Upon force. Jesus Christ founded His empire upon love; and at this hour millions of men would die for Him.”
I think it was the late Dr. D. James Kennedy who said that unlike with man, when we gaze closer and closer to inspect Jesus, we become more awed by His exceptional love and virtue; whereas the opposite is true when we closely inspect any man.
This was a good Manic Monday– got me thinking!

I came across a fun, regular meme called “Manic Monday” when I read Midlife Musings this morning. It’s a blog I’ve been checking out more recently, lately. I am finding Midlife Musings oddly and uncomfortably familiar these days. I’m 40 years old now; am I midlife?!
Here are the questions:
- If the statement, ‘You are what you eat’ was true, I would be a _______.
- If you had to have one piece of music (softly) playing in your mind for the rest of your life, what would you want it to be?
- What is the most important thing in any relationship?
1. …I would be a … cup of coffee-two-creams-two sugars with the aspirations to be puritanical green tea.
2. A tabernacle choir singing “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” and it plays in my mind all the time, anyway.
3. Fidelity and trust. The two go hand in hand but have distinct differences as they are the “give and take” elements of a healthy symbiotic relationship. I think that without fidelity and trust, you really can’t even have a relationship.
I think I like Manic Monday memes! But this, my first one, wasn’t too terribly manic. Maybe next Monday.
Today is definitely a Manic Monday in the sense of my “real life.” My old pair of glasses broke and I am reluctantly using my “new” pair. The “new” pair is two years old and I have never worn them, because they are so poorly constructed that I can’t see clearly with them. Poor vision and the wearing of thick glasses is bad enough; wearing poorly fitted, poorly constructed glasses is insane!
