Psalm 19

The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork.

Day unto day utters speech,
And night unto night reveals knowledge.

There is no speech nor language
Where their voice is not heard.
Their line has gone out through all the earth,
And their words to the end of the world.

…The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;

The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;

The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.

More to be desired are they than gold,
Yea, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

Moreover by them Your servant is warned,
And in keeping them there is great reward.

We’re back after a whirlwind day in New York City. The girls and I feel like we could sleep all day. We got up @ 4am to drive to Albany, to take the train to Manhattan. I spotted the “coffee tanker truck” on the way and it gave me a little boost of energy. :D

Our visit was great, very productive! I’ll have some photos posted soon. While we were gone, TWO tornadoes and a microburst hit Upstate New York, near home. No one was hurt, but my son called me to report they’d lost power and the storm was vicious outside. I think this event totally threw the weathermen off, because the day was forecast to be 20% chance of rain. :-? If I’d known there was a sudden tornado alert, I’d have directed my sons into the basement! As it was, the tornado touched down about 8 miles away, and the microburst hit about 6 miles away. Thank God for His protection on everyone.

Well…. I guess this wasn’t a very “wordless” Wednesday. Never is!

Have a good Wednesday, friends!

“Our Father in heaven, holy is Your name….forgive us our sins, as we also have forgiven those who have sinned against us…” Matthew 6

“And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” Mark 11

Forgiveness is powerful stuff. With it, you release people from your condemnation. And with it, you release yourself from bondage. It’s absolutely necessary to forgive others to receive God’s forgiveness. God knows that when we forgive other people, we release that tightly-wadded, miserly fist of bitter emotion and open our heart to receive His help.

Everybody knows what it’s like to feel unforgiveness. It’s that nasty, sharp feeling in the gut when you hear that person’s name mentioned, or you see him or her in school or at the playgrounds or at the store. And everyone has a good reason to hold unforgiveness. After all, I haven’t met any person who is perfect. Someone has hurt me along the way, on purpose and by accident. Yet I’ve also hurt others along the way, on purpose and by accident. We make mistakes, that’s life. We err and sin, and that’s life, too. And God understands that, which is why He set up the standard for forgiveness. We MUST forgive. And if we are forgiving and they are forgiving, you’re getting forgiveness as well as giving it. That’s very powerful freedom. And it releases you from walking on eggshells with people, and also from being a doormat or landscape mulch by other people.

Now, forgiveness doesn’t mean “forget.” Jesus never said “Forgive and forget.” That saying is kind of dumb. If a guy walks up to you and accidentally clobbers you on the head, you forgive him, yeah. But you don’t just stand there, forgetting what he did, or else you’re still in the way and will accidentally clobbered again! Jesus said to forgive– even forgive 70 times 7!– but He never said “And forget the incident ever happened so you can be a target over and over again.” We are human beings, not Rubberecycle!

Science proves that forgiveness is healthful for the body. Forgiveness releases beneficial hormones into your body. There have been many studies about the health benefits to forgiveness. Forgiveness reduces stress on the heart and circulatory system. It soothes stiffened joints. And you just FEEL better, too. Forgiveness is more healthful to your body than a vegetarian diet, than exercise.

I have practiced forgiveness in my life. I thought it would be so very hard, that 10,000 elephants would have to drag it out of me. But you know, it wasn’t hard at all. Sometimes it took a lot of determination, but once I made up my mind to do it no matter what, it was surprisingly easy. AND delightful.

God puts a lot of weight on forgiveness. It’s one of the ignored standards, I think. Oh, we emphasize prayer and good eating and not smoking and dieting and Lent and all that stuff… but the secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him (Psalm 25). If you’re listening to Him, you’ll know what to do, and all the religious rituals will be empty (as they are and ought to be). You will have a special relationship with Him. So that when that sharp, bitter feeling reaches your throat again, you will have the strength to turn to God and say in your mind, “We forgave that person, didn’t we, God?”

“God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” James 4:6

I don’t believe in evolution. (I also don’t believe that the earth is flat nor that Santa Claus comes down the chimney every Christmas). There is way too much evidence against evolution and nothing convincing for it. I’m not just spouting this off– we have spent a great deal of time and investigation (as part of our school curriculum and also because my husband is The Brainy Science Guy) on this topic. I could go on and on and on about the details, but I don’t want to here. However, I will address a few major problems regarding the theory of evolution, problems that have never been adequately answered by evolutionists:

Evolution defies the universal Second Law of Thermodynamics/Law of Entropy (which states that all matter goes from order to disorder, like an old house, aging, and my checkbook balance). Evolution says that SOMETHING orderly came from chaotic disorder, that random simplicity grew into complexity. Total nonsense. To my knowledge, there isn’t anything else in the universe that contradicts the Second Law of Thermodynamics/Law of Entropy. Except the theory of evolution.

The "Tree of Life" is entirely made up. It's published in textbooks, but it's all imagination.

Evolution says that species are changing into other species. There is NO evidence for this, not even in the fossil record. None. Oh evolutionists will say that species adapt (finch beaks get bigger or smaller as food becomes scarcer or more abundant)– that’s called adaptation. It occurs in nature all the time. But finches aren’t evolving into lizards. Hasn’t happened, except in the fertile minds of some evolutionists.

Irreducible Complexity proves evolution is false. The bodies of living things are very complex, down to the tiniest cell. Without all the crucial systems of a body working, the body breaks down, not evolves into something better or something else. Think about your body– you NEED your respiratory system, your circulatory system, your digestive system, etc all to be in existence simultaneously. If one of these systems is incomplete because it’s still evolving, the body will not function! Evolution says everything evolved at a very slow pace (although, some evolutionists are changing their theories and saying things happened REALLY REALLY fast– one day, a bird had an egg and a lizard popped out! Seriously, one scientist said that!). But evolving at a slow or fast pace is stupid, because living things don’t evolve. Evolutionists also like to say “Evolution is cleverer than you are” which means that you just *never know* what evolution can do. All I can say to that is: exactly! You cannot know because there is NO EVIDENCE! It’s an terribly illogical theory.

Sorry, Mr. Huxley. I just can't believe that 6 monkeys pounding away on typewriters would, by pure chance, if given enough time, be bound to write out all the works held in the British Library (or in all other libraries, for that matter)." That's just dumb.

Evolutionists use evolution as the main excuse to reject the existence of God. Some have even said it– they would rather believe that life on earth came from aliens who “seeded” the planet, or that creatures evolved over billions of years from nothing, than believe in God. That’s a REALLY dumb reason to promote a “scientific” theory. In any other arena in life, that attitude would immediately remove scientific credibility. But- oddly enough– not so with evolution! Some believe that evolution is all the more NOBLE because they refuse to see the evidence of intelligent design!

Where did reason and thinking come from? Evolutionists say it’s all chemical processes in the brain, but there’s no conclusive proof for this. Where did love come from? Hatred? The conscience, anger, compassion, intuition?? Where did all these come from? Where did gravity come from? Where did natural laws come from? Where did light and water come from? And how is it that the earth is PERFECTLY positioned in the galaxy– if it was even 10% closer to the sun, we’d burn up. If it was 10% further from the sun, we’d freeze. Evolution cannot explain these things.

Why are there male and females in species? Why is reproduction situated this way, if there is evolution? And HOW ON EARTH did evolution make males AND females concurrently?! Our bodies are very, very complex. Evolution is just too simple– so, so simple that it just can’t work.

And the final reason: Dr. Kent Hovind. VERY cool videos!

That’s just a tiny smidgen of the data I have gathered over the 20 years we’ve been studying this issue.

Oh, I do have ONE MORE good argument against evolution: math.

Watch this video, it’s cool!:

My husband works at a grocery store, in the bakery. (He makes donuts and all sorts of yummy baked goods and is still as skinny as a bean pole. Life is SO unfair).

Anyway, tonight he told me of a funny note he saw in the bakery. Taped to the refrigerator door was a note from the management that said, “DON’T PUT CRACKERS IN THE REFRIGERATOR!” Scribbled in small print underneath the directive, someone has written “White people don’t keep.”

<img src="http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa84/mrsmecomber/yahoo_rotfl.gif"

P.S. The story is especially funny to us, because my husband is so white his skin is almost transparent. I am olive-skinned and Mediterranean-looking, so I’m always calling him “cracker.” LOL. Me and my terms of endearment, eh?
