Everything Is Running in Slo-Mo This Week

August 30, 2012

CANNOT believe it’s Thursday. Oh my gosh. What on earth have I been doing this week?!

The daughter and I have been making drapes for the living room windows. I am so out of practice, it’s sad. I can’t seem to sew in a straight line anymore. :-p But the curtains will eventually look beautiful and no one will notice that one end sags a bit more than the other….

Ain’t this the truth.

It’s not even September, and already I am worrying about April 15th. I’ve been working a lot this year, making some good money. But instead of putting it in the bank and saving it for taxes, we are doing silly things like paying for groceries and gas and paying debts. …I don’t think I can afford to feed my kids AND all the politicians’ kids and their mistresses’ kids, too. It’s keeping me up at night.

There is no real difference between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama. There, I said it.

Someone please tell me how the only presidential candidate who has pledged to reduce taxes (has a record of it in Congress, too) and get our country’s economy back on track was not nominated as presidential candidate? How can voters say no to lower taxes? Oh wait — I forgot — the other guys promise bread and circuses. Ah, yes.

OK, that’s it for the politics. You can open your eyes now.

AS SOON AS I disable my comment spam filter, I get half a dozen spam comments. Ugh! I have to set aside a portion of my day, searching for a suitable spam plugin. I loved Spam Free WordPress but it’s a mess after a few updates. Anyone have any suggestions? šŸ™‚

Update: After talking with the Spam Free WordPress plugin developer, he’s released a fix for the problem. Yay! I’m back in the spam-bashing business.

My gardens are late bloomers. All spring long, there is very little color. Come July, however, and it’s blazing rainbows. All my plants are perennials, so that must be why.

I love cooler weather. Not only does it infuse me with more energy and the garden blooms, but the cat is more snuggly. This morning, she cuddled with me underneath the blankets. Happiness is cuddling with a kitty. šŸ™‚

Your cat is laying like my Shitzu, Brody. He is the most relaxed dog! I hope you put up a picture of the curtains when they are done.

This is the first year in a long time that we planted a garden. We are still getting zucchini!

I like when my cat joins me in the bed too–the big restless dog, not so much!

Isn’t that volume, Governments Rules For Us, just Volume One of a 98 99 100 . . . 599 758 volume set that grows daily? :scairt:

Ah, you’ve disabled html in comments. The 98, 99, 100 and 599 would have strike-through formatting if it weren’t. :dunce:
