Happy Grouch Day!

October 15, 2008

Blabber, Freaky

According to Margie and Edna, those encyclopedic marvels of trivial matters, today is National Grouch Day! Wooo! I think I’m going to have a party.

I have some great ideas for the party, tell me what you think:

1. Use mushy, over-ripe bananas as little party-favor trumpets! The kids will love it!
2. Have jelly beans only in black and green!
3. Serve cake and ice cream with no silverware!
4. Hire a band and have them play only elevator music!
5. Invite all your friends who are currently sick! Place those little Kleenex packages on their plates for the extra-special touch!
6. Use garlic powder instead of sprinkles on the cupcakes!
7. Blow the balloons too full of air, so they POP when you brush against them!

Sounds like a party fit for the day, eh? Happy Grouch Day! Until next year!

P.S. WHO comes up with these ideas for national holidays, anyway?!

Ohhhh…… You are sooooo *E*V*I*L* LOL!!!

    Love your ideas. HeeHeee!!

  2. Kristine Says:

This is fun. The ideas are endless. Love yours. How about:
Giving away free soda and candy, to take home so parents get to suffer their childrens’ sugar buzz all day.
Making everyone take off their shoes at the door, and socks, claiming you hate sock fuzzies.
Giving away air horns as party favors.

  3. Margie Says:

Thank you for the mention. How about brownies with Ex-Lax? That’ll keep folks busy.

  4. Rebecca Says:

    Chilly: mwuhahahahahahah!

Kristine and Margie– oooooo! *cackle* LOL!

I just got done reading something about International Be Sure to Wash Your Hands Day (or some such nonsense).

It’s about time I created a holiday of my own.

National (no wait a minute) International (close, but not quite there) — got it … Universal Send Money to The Hawg Day!

That’s it. Universal Send Money to The Hawg Day. Yes, it’ll be a day i which everyone in the universe is expected — hell required — to reach into their wallets and send some cash to me.

    Think that’ll work?

  6. Rebecca Says:

Universal, eh? Don’t like to aim high, now do ya? 😉

You know, Dear Hawg, if you’d asked me 20 years ago if I thought your scheme would work, I would have giggled, thinking no one would be so silly. Well, I can now confidently say that you’d probably make a few bucks. :S

  7. The Hawg! Says:

Rebecca, it might at that. Hell, I’d be happy if I just got a few blasted ad clicks on my blog.

Thank God I never figured on making much out of blogging. Cynicism does have it’s advantages…

Ummm… a party! Good idea. I love cake and icecream, yummie.
Here in Portugal today´s the healthy diet day, I started with a soup and I´m doing fruit salad too.
    A good party, cheers.
