Long story! Wow!
I got my blog title from 2 Corinthians 3:18. I wanted to say that it was about my journey down this path of life, leading to eternal life, basically coming closer and closer to the image of Christ in me, being transformed into His image.
So, I became “the Other Alice” going through a different “looking glass.” :D

I love your blog name. I lived in New England for years, where we were all frugal (actually we were cheap, but frugal sounds classier). I created my blog after my website, so I just used the same name for my blog too. Although now I think I should make up a really good story since my story sounds so lame.

Thanks for the entertaining story. I like the current name a lot. I just wanted to point out a spelling mistake in the story, a replication of the spelling mistake on the application form, which confused me for a second while reading. You write After much discussion, I decided on “FrugalGoolgol.com” and explain the meaning of googol (when I was asking myself whether my eyes or my memory is bad) and then afterwards explain your misspelling on the application form where you state that you had wanted “FrugalGoogol” (not FrugalGoolgol).

What a great story – and a great idea. I always think mine is self-explanatory, but maybe it’s not.

Being the skeptical sort and the sarcastic sort, one of my everyday responses to life in general was, “yeah, right.” Kinda like, “oh, sure, I believe that.” *wink, wink* I didn’t realize how often I said it until a former pastor (!) picked up on it: i.e., “As Jean would say, ‘yeah, right.’”

So when I decided to join the blogging world, ignorant as I was and not knowing ANYBODY out there, one thing I didn’t have to think about was the name. That had already been chosen for me.

I’ve visited you more or less regularly for nearly a year. I’ve often wondered about the name, which is great. It’s really catchy with just a touch of self deprecation. Oh, and the lady bug is wizard. Love it! Lately, I find myself taking more time to read your posts and increasingly find them enjoyable. Thanks for sharing your story.

I don’t really have a good story about naming my blog. When I started I knew almost nothing about blogging, but luckily I had enough sense in my head to pick something general, not too hard to remember, and not too hard to spell. Plus, would you believe “carolesthoughtfulspot” wasn’t taken, ha ha? It is kinda long I admit, but it was the best I could come up with – I haven’t even ever thought of something better in the meantime. The end.

I like your current name MUCH better.

I used to visit a political forum years ago and would rant about various things and sometimes get kind of snarky. One poster was named the King of Pith and they named me Queen. Since I knew that was a rare title, I used that for my blog.

Connie– yours was one of the names I did wonder about. Whale ears?! LOL!! Kids are pretty funny. My in-laws were in the military (the Hubs is an AF brat), and they lived in the Middle East for a while. That was right before the Persian Shah fled Iran and the Tehran Embassy kidnappings… it was a pretty scary time to be abroad. I’d love to see the Middle East, now that things have calmed down somewhat.

Kathy– yeah, it’s easier to spell! LOL. Good thing! :S And I hate transferring blogs. I did it from Blogger to WP, and then I had to do it from WP to WP with another host. It’s always a “hold your breath I hope this works” kind of experience.
