I Finally Found Some Rose Perfume!

December 19, 2008

Dear Diary

I am so excited, totally stoked! It came, it came, it finally came!!! Here’s my beautiful kitten modeling what the UPS man brought me this morning.

Livvy Likes Roses

I’ve been looking, FOR YEARS, for rose-scented perfume. I just love the smell of roses, they make me swoon with spine-shivering undulations of ecstastic delight. OK, maybe I’m overstating it. But I do really like roses! It’s been a terrible hassle finding rose perfume. I’ve checked all the department stores– for years– to see if they stocked rose perfume. The closest thing I found was something by Priscilla Presley, and it was like $65 an ounce! Yow!

Someone please tell me why celebrity perfume is so durn expensive. It’s not like they need the cash? Couldn’t they knock down the prices, just a little, for us common folk, huh?

ANYWAY… I don’t know why I never thought of it before, but, DUH, check online! *slaps head* So I did. I found this stuff called Tea Rose, and it’s a honking big bottle, and it cost me only $13! And it actually smells like ROSES! (Take THAT, Priscilla Presley!).

Livvy kinda likes it, too. She started to lick the bottle.

Smell Da Roses

Ewwww! I grabbed the bottle away, but I guess she must have swallowed a trace amount, because she kept winking her eyes and swallowing hard for about 10 seconds. It was kinda funny, lol– sorry! She’s OK, no need to call the poison control center or a Chicago injury lawyer or anything. She’s her usual kooky self. If she started acting normal and sensible, I guess then I’d be worried, lol.

OK, anyway. I just wanted to share with you my excitement. Now, when I delicately float past my family and peers, I shall now be clothed in the delicious, intoxicating scent of New York’s state flower. Ahhh.

I’m so happy. šŸ˜€

Holy cow that’s awesome! I have been looking for a just rose perfume too – everything is rose and blah and rose and yuck… Great find! I haven’t ever bought perfume online, I’m always afraid it won’t smell like what I think (I don’t read perfume descriptions and understand them!), or it will break all over the whole world and everything will smell of that same perfume. Anyway, great to see you found some!

I have used this perfume for years and it is the best ever! It’s made by the Perfumers Workshop. Never thought to look online, though. I’ve always paid a lot more than $13. Thanks.

Thanks, Joanna! šŸ˜€ I like this stuff. But it can be overwhelming if too much is applied. I accidentally sprayed too much and now I feel like I want to barf. :-p But in moderation, it is GREAT. I’m really liking it.

Jan, WOW that is neat! Someone else actually uses this perfume!! šŸ˜€ I’m glad you’re going to be getting a better deal now.

Do you know – I love the smell of roses (rose perfume) too! About five years ago, I found one that was just like smelling the trail to heaven. It was truly beautiful and sat on a perfume counter in Beaties … at the time, I was in a rush so didn’t thing to take down the makers name but thought to myself – next time I come I’ll treat myself to a bottle of this. In the meantime, SADLY, it disappeared from the perfume shelves. I have never seen it anywhere else and nothing I have ever sniffed comes anywhere close. It wasn’t too expensive … but oh how I wish I had bought a bottle and ‘slap’ my hand – why didn’t I think t get down the name (and possibly address)?

On another note – I have fallen in love with your beautiful cat – what exquisite marking how wonderful … tiger stripes on head and leg … is your cat a specific breed? You are lucky to have found such a pretty creature.

Hey Polly, what a story! I truly sympathize. :S My kitten, Livvy, is half Siamese. I think the other half is tabby, but I’m not 100% sure. But her mother was a pure bred Siamese. Livvy is so beautiful, isn’t she?! I’m having a hard time deciding whether to let her have kittens someday…

P.S. She also has six toes! Wild, huh?

Dunno much about the perfume but I have to say your kitten is gorgeous. I love the leg stripes.

Your post sent me on a little stroll down memory lane. When I was a teenager, one of my best friends had a cat that looked just like that. Her name was Tootsie and she sure had the Siamese yowl. The cat, that is–not my friend! Those markings are called Tabby-pointed Siamese, by the way.

Another friend used to wear rose perfume all the time–she was a little too liberal with it at times and boy would my parents complain!

I have a white cat now and he has 6 toes. Funny little guy, too. I was just thinking I ought to get some pictures of the animals on my blog. Something to add to my list…

Oh, that stuff is awesome! My grandma used to buy it for me when I was a little girl. I haven’t smelled it for years, but I remember being able to get it at the swap meet in Pasadena. Glad you found it!

For next time you may want to try Victoria’s Secret for a cheaper rose perfume, I know they used to have one for under $20 and I believe they had lotion to go with it. It’s been a while since I bought it though so they might not stock it anymore, but it’s worth a try.

    Great blog, I’ll be back!

Yes, of course, Livvy is gorgeous. And I’m glad your search for a perfume is over. But what I REALLY want is to see you “delicately float past my family and peers.” Do a video, willya? My father always called me stompfoot. šŸ™‚

I have a passion of perfumes, and I also run a small perfumes sales business. I look
around for posts like yours so I can keep myself updated. I consider the scent of perfumes
as an art because every perfumes’ scent is unique in its own way just like an artist
paints unique pictures. I even run my own blog for perfumes.
