I STILL Can’t Decide on a Car!

Family

Well, we are FINALLY crawling our way toward THINKING about a decision to get a new car. In case you didn’t know, we have an ailing Dodge Caravan minivan. I loved that van, but it was used as a postal vehicle for a while (Hubs is a rural carrier, and up until a few months ago, carriers had to use their own vehicles for mail delivery). Postal routes are MONSTERS for vehicles. If you have a rural mailbox, say a few prayers for the mailman’s car, will ya? He goes through a heck of a lot to keep the thing running. Since that van was our only vehicle, it was tough on all of us. All that stop-and-start traffic basically killed the poor van. Now that the vehicle has lost the transmission tank gasket, the catalytic converter and muffler, the shocks and struts, and has basically rusted away, we are getting a new vehicle very soon.

I don’t want another minivan. NEVER EVER NEVER. The only reason we’ve had one for the last 17 years is because it’s the only vehicle that holds six people (and I dislike SUVs, too big, too expensive to maintain). I want a sedan. Oh, I’d so love to get a Lexus. Who wouldn’t?! *sigh* The Hubs actually saw a Scion, a funky-looking SUV/minivan/toaster thing, on par with the Ford Transit Connect. Another nice car is the Infiniti Ex35 Crossover, but it’s way out of my price range. Unless some rich advertiser wants to give me one for a review. šŸ˜€

Anyway, we really haven’t made up our minds…. what do you drive? Got any suggestions? I need something to seat AT LEAST five adults comfortably, but a six-seater would be great. Help!

I’d like to recommend a Hummer… LOL They sure do look cool, but they aren’t very practical. I’d like one anyway. šŸ˜›

I would LOVE to go car shopping! I am wishing big time for a new car. I have driven a Chevy Equinox for almost 6 yrs. It’s engine and everything under the hood basically has had to be replaced/repaired TWICE…so my advice…do NOT get one!!! On my list of wishes for cars is…Honda Pilot, Honda Odessy or Dodge Durango..Hubby would love a Jeep. I like almost any Jeep product. GOod luck in your car shopping adventures!

I drive a Honda Accord. It was not my first choice, but we got a good deal on it. What I’ve wanted for years is a Nissan Altima. My heart still goes pitter pat when I see one on the road. Second choice was a Toyota Camry. Third was the Accord. Don’t know if you could get 3 in the back seat–well, you can, just don’t know how comfortable it would be. My biggest gripe is pulling out of a parking spot. After driving a Jeep for years, I’m now sitting lower and can’t see when I back out. You’d think I’d have gotten used to it after 2 years.

I drive a 1999 Saturn and that only fits 4 comfortably. Well unless its a long trip then I can’t guarantee “comfortably”. šŸ™‚

Of course you know my hubby has a Jeep Liberty, I love it. It will fit 5 people but don’t think 6.

I used to hate SUVs too but you might change your mind when you test drive one. I used to say ugh, I will never buy an SUV. But, some friends of mine have them and when I ride in them, I love them.

My sister has a Durango, very comfortable. It will fit 5 people easy, you might be able to fit 6. Its awesome because its good for carrying furniture etc.
