I’m back! I’m back from an overnight trip to the Finger Lakes. WOW it was fun, but by day 2, I was horribly homesick. I missed my kids and I missed my kitty. They told me Livvy was terribly lonely, meowing and whining and pining out the window waiting for me. She was pretty depressed by the time I got home. I had no idea cats could get depressed. I was a little nervous, because animals can get sick when they are depressed. I have been dosing her with TONS of attention and special treats, and she’s starting to believe her world is back to normal. But I have no idea what I’m going to do if I ever stay away again…. bring her with me?!

While we traveled, I used the GPS thingy on my iPhone. I TOTALLY fell in love with it! Oh my goodness, do you know how cool it is to watch the little blue ball move down the satellite street lines as we travel along? LOL. Silly, I know. But I was able to direct the Hubs to our destinations pretty accurately. Well except for one time it said there was a road when there wasn’t. Oh, that was fun trying to get out of that. :pinch:

Another time during the trip, I needed to get to a store to buy a new phone charger (I left my old charger at home, dumb!)… all I had to do was search and scroll in on the map, and BANG it showed everything. How cool is that?!

I used a new phone app called Every Trail. If you’re interested in seeing a little of what it’s like (and how I did with it), see my EveryTrail Trip Guide to Seneca Falls and Geneva. Sheesh, the map is a mess and I took most of the photos while whizzing by in the car… still, it’s a learning experience and I hope to get the technique down better while I continue to use it.

I never used to be so crazy about GPS in cars, but I don’t think I will ever use a paper map again! Very cool!

Good to hear that you had a good time. We were thinking of getting a GPS but will have to wait a bit.

Yes, our pets miss us so much when we go away. Moe and I are going to North Carolina in a couple months to visit one of his sisters. I will have to bring our dog because otherwise he will be traumatized. We will be gone for a week. His sister is ok with us bringing him, so that is a awesome.

I love following the GPS. Ours shows what the speed limit is and what speed I am driving! Fun stuff. Glad you had a getaway.
