If You Could Go Anywhere, Where Would You Go?

November 5, 2010

Blabber

I was perusing some travel sites of late (the only travel I’ve been doing these days), and someone asked that question.

Hmmm. :thinky: choices, choices.

If money was no object, I’d go to Greece. I LOVE LOVE Greek food. I would go there for the food and the glorious scenery. The perfect vacation would be me eating scads and scads of Greek dolmas and baclava on the shores of the Mediterranean. They’d have to roll my body onto the plane for the ride home, though.

If money was no object, I’d also love to see Scotland.

I hear that the Scots throw some amazing welcome parties...

I’d spend a good deal of time scouring the dusty tomes in the local chapels for genealogical information, but I’d also go Nessie-watching and enjoy the company of the Scots (who, I hear, are very amiable and witty). My son can say– in a superb Scottish accent– “If you can’t see over the loch, it’s raining; if you can see over the loch, it’s about to rain.” LOL. Do you find it strange that I want to visit a place where it rains all the time considering I lament very vocally about the tons of rain we get here in New York? Well… in Scotland, all the rain makes its way to the coast and then to the ocean. Here in New York, all the rain makes its way into my basement. :-p P.S. Just so you know, I’d NOT go to Scotland for the food. :-p

If I had to travel on a budget, I’d probably stay in the United States. I’d like to see the other states- go on an extended road trip and blog about it the entire time! I’ve only been as far west as Pennsylvania and as south as Florida. We once tried to plan an itinerary for a national trip. We’d take our time, enjoying the sights and maybe spending some time at Breckenridge rental homes or some other nice relaxing place. We are not skiers, but we’d love to go just to see the Rockies. Breckenridge Property Management has done a terrific job with making it an enjoyable experience. The vacation rentals Breckenridge would be a nice place to stop. We’d also like to see Bryce Canyon and the Appalachian Mountains, too. Right now, such a trip seems a dream, too far off to make it reality… but I’m saving my pennies. Who knows?

Where would you go if money was no object? Where would you go if you have to stay on a budget? Think you’ll ever do it?

I would love to go to Japan (Asia), UK (Europe) and Brazil (South America). Japan and UK have a lot of “culture” that influenced the whole world so I would like to start there…and of course, Brazil. I’m very fascinated with Japanes culture, and the British empire in the ancient years, plus Brazil’s mysteries and legends.
If I am on a budget, I would just like to explore towns and beaches here in the Philippines, or the Southeast America like Florida.

Oooooo British history! I love its history. I’d like to see Skara Brae, up in Orkney. But that’s way north, near (or it is in?) Scotland. šŸ˜€ Japan is an interesting choice! Thanks for your comment.

Thanks for that. I moved to England when I was really young, and I really want to rediscover my heritage. I’ve been trying out a lot of random greek recipes.
