I was looking at my traffic stats yesterday. Look at how it is broken down by country.
Isn’t that amazing?! I mean– Kenya? Iceland?! Serbia? Kuwait?! What is “BA” by the way?
And are these spambots, or are these real people? And– MAN– I really need to brush up on my formal English for this blog. I tend to use a lot of idioms and other idiosyncracies of the English language. I wonder if it is all just gibberish to other folks?
I am awed by the fact that so many people know English. I mean, back in America’s founding years, only the Americans and the British used English– everyone in the world used French to communicate with each other. It’s interesting to see how things have shifted. I marvel at how well people from other countries speak English as their second-language. English is not easily mastered (just as the average public-schooled student), so I am impressed.
So how about you and your blog? Do you get a lot of visitors from far-reaching countries? How does it affect your own writing?

I’m a married mom with 4 kids. We live in Upstate New York in an old 1855 house with our five pets (yes, five, *sigh*). Life is never dull, and exciting things just seem to always happen to me... why me... when I'm not running around the house fixing things, I do freelance writing and blogging. My work and opinions have appeared in Salon.com, USAToday, eHow.com, iMedia.com, the Associated Press and I've even been interviewed by TIME and The Wall Street Journal about blogging. Can you believe it?! Here is where I express my zany, creative, motherly side.
