It’s been an aggravating week. Did any of you feel that way? It’s not like anything bad happened.. but there has been this gloominess. I don’t know why I feel that twinge of grouchiness… I only went to Walmart once this week!
Can’t believe it’s already a week past in February! It’s extremely cold in Upstate NY, but no new snow. I’m somewhat glad: my son is on shovel detail, and this week he has a big school project. He needs all the time he can get, so I’m glad there’s no snow. But on the other hand, the best thing about winter is the snow! I like snowstorms– we stay huddled in our home, baking a turkey or an apple pie, and enjoying each other’s company. It’s just no fun paying these atrociously high heating bills without the pleasure of having snow!
Well anyway, I’m rambling. It’s been a long day. I write articles for a company and I really love the work (and the pay). But the research involved for every article is laborious. I wrote up three articles in a blitz today. I feel so satisfied after a job well done. I wish my turkey was thawed, I’d make a turkey dinner!
How is your February turning out?
I’m a married mom with 4 kids. We live in Upstate New York in an old 1855 house with our five pets (yes, five, *sigh*). Life is never dull, and exciting things just seem to always happen to me... why me... when I'm not running around the house fixing things, I do freelance writing and blogging. My work and opinions have appeared in Salon.com, USAToday, eHow.com, iMedia.com, the Associated Press and I've even been interviewed by TIME and The Wall Street Journal about blogging. Can you believe it?! Here is where I express my zany, creative, motherly side.

It’s dreary, but that is February and March in Chicago. Ick. I find it really hard to keep my spirits up, so I try to find projects around the house to do to get ready for spring. New sink and faucet in the kitchen this week. Hooray! Now if we can just get the old one out without doing damage to the countertops……

I went to Wal-Mart in the middle of the day today– wrong time to go! There were scads of people! It was like holiday season! But at least the sun was shining!

This month has not started so well for me–the groundhog saw his shadow so 6 more weeks of winter, had a mammogram and I can’t get my flip video to load on the computer–flipping out over that one!
I did have a nice mid-winter slump breakfast at work and am enjoying my weekend. Just not in a writing mood.
