Meet Me on Monday #55

October 30, 2011

MMoM

It’s another Monday! Here are this week’s questions and answers.

Questions:

1. My current weather is _______?
Warm and sunny (about 45 degrees today). I call that warm. I like this weather. Of course, if I was to drive 100 miles south or 200 miles north, the weather would be like this:

Arbor at Daybreak

But we missed the snow storm that hit southern New York. Didn’t see a flake. Up in Maine, they got 32 inches. Woohooo!!

Right now, it looks kinda like this:

Spring Arbor

2. What is your favorite sound?

Oh, I dunno. I like silence. I also like songbirds, like the cardinal and mockingbird. I love the loon. When we went to Blue Mountain in the Adirondacks, we could hear the loons down by Blue Mountain Lake. IT. WAS. AMAZING. THERE.

3. What is the worst flavor of ice cream?
There’s probably a lot of them out there, but the first ones that come to mind are Bubble Gum and Maple Walnut. *shudder* YUK. When I was a kid, there was an ice cream place that sold this goop called “Dinosaur Bites.” It was a brilliant blue — so blue that you’d p**p bright blue for weeks. And it had little bubble gum chicklets in it. It was disgusting but, as expected, it was my siblings’ favorite ice cream. *ick*

4. What magazine do you look for when you are stuck in the waiting room?

None. I strongly dislike the magazines the waiting rooms, they are always either about sports or hot babes. :-p I feel they are all marketing scams. I usually use my iPhone to go on Twitter and Facebook, or surf Wikipedia or something. If on the rare occasion there’s a This Old House magazine in the waiting room, I would read that… but I’ve never seen one of those in a waiting room….

5. What is your favorite condiment?
Gee, I can’t think of anything. I’m not a big condiment fan. Maybe… horseradish sauce?

How about you, what would you answer this week?

Ranking right up there with silence, my favorite sound is “Mom, I’m home”.

What is with snow??? Criminy. I’m not ready for that.

I always reach for People magazine in waiting rooms. Then I can see how many “celebs” I don’t know!

Lin- I hear ya about the mysterious celebs. LOL. I used to be a NUT about Hollywood gossip. But not anymore.

That’s a good answer about sounds. I like to hear my kids say they are home, too. šŸ™‚

I actually get People magazine on my NookColor just to keep up but I’m waayy behind, I think there is like 8 weeks on there I have not read yet because I’ve been reading all my school books. I’ll try to catch up on them in 2 weeks when I head to Orlando for vacation.

They actually make bubble gum ice cream? *gag* Not sure maple walnut would be much better either :/

  3. Glo Says:

  4. Karen and Gerard Says:

    1. weather: cold and rainy (I do not consider 45 warm)
    2. sound: when my cats purr is my favorite sound, also birds chirping early in the morning on a spring day
    3. worst flavor: mocha
    4. magazine: I usually bring a book along, but if not, I’d choose something with tips in it. (That’s how I learned a new way to build a snowman.) If I had an iPhone, I’d be on the Internet too.
    5. condiment: Ketchup

  5. PinkOddy Says:

Just saying – technology really killed magazines hasn’t it.
Love your snow pics – hope it comes over to the UK

  6. Secondary Roads Says:

For waiting rooms, I carry my pocket notebook and a mechanical pencil.

    While I sit and wait
I kill time by taking notes
    Might write a haiku

  7. Nani Says:

Silence is so UNDERrated. Sometimes that peace is really calming or even inspiring!
