Oh yeah baby. I have a confession to make. I LOVE disco! I was one of those really crazy girls in high school who loved Donna Summer and the Bee Gees. (Donna Summer became a Christian, too!). I hated the punk of the 80s and the grunge of the 90s. I love the disco of the 70s. It was the only good thing to come out of the 70s, I tell ya. I love the beat, I can’t keep still. The Newsboys did the Love, Liberty, Disco song in the spirit of 70s disco, and I love that.
And I love Israeli disco! I have been searching for YEARS for the Queen of Tel Aviv, which is an Israeli techno-disco club mix with Ofra Haza’s Im Nin-alu. I found the mix at iTunes today! I am flipping!!! You can listen to a quick clip at the link. Beware, it’s very eclectic.
Who needs coffee when you have Israeli disco? lol
Ofra Haza has one of the most beautiful voices I’ve ever heard. She was a Yememite Jew who sang songs from the psalms in Hebrew. She also made a few songs in English, in the 80s. It’s cool that they put her music to disco beat. Here she is singing the famous Jerusalem of Gold.

I liked the disco era too. Actually, I liked the 70s!
