I like helping other people, especially in areas that I have some proficiency in. I’ve been called upon lately to help various people fix all sorts of problems– everything from blog database repair to switching web hosts/blog databases to installing firewalls, etc etc.
But one of my pals has a virus.

The SmitFraud virus. It’s basically taken over his browser, crashing his computer as well.
The other problem is that he lives in Virginia. Ten hours away.

I could STRANGLE those virus creators right about now. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Do they have ANY IDEA how much TIME this is going to take to fix?!?! And I have to do it all long distance!!!!
*seething*
So I’ve been doing research on how to get rid of this virus. If anyone has a link to an easy one-size-fits-all tutorial, I’d love to know. I’ve never had a virus on my computer (whew) and removing one is new to me. I once got the Sasser worm on a new laptop, but I reformatted the thing right away…. so virus removal (without killing the computer) is new to me.

I’m a married mom with 4 kids. We live in Upstate New York in an old 1855 house with our five pets (yes, five, *sigh*). Life is never dull, and exciting things just seem to always happen to me... why me... when I'm not running around the house fixing things, I do freelance writing and blogging. My work and opinions have appeared in Salon.com, USAToday, eHow.com, iMedia.com, the Associated Press and I've even been interviewed by TIME and The Wall Street Journal about blogging. Can you believe it?! Here is where I express my zany, creative, motherly side.
