Oh my word, it’s Friday and I REMEMBERED that it’s Friday! Friday is one of those days that always sneaks up on me. By the time it’s gone and Saturday rolls around, I realize that Friday happened. :-p Fridays are like Mondays to me. I know, I’m a strange one.

Boy Scouts: Boys to Men
September 8, 2011
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Boy Scouts of America for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine. A common complaint by some young kids around here is that there is “nothing to do.” No matter where I live, that seems to be a pretty common complaint. Well, I have an [...]
We Went to Olana!
August 17, 2011
After weeks of empty promises, I finally made good on my word and took the kids out for a day trip. We endured 2 hours in crazy freeway traffic through our capitol city (Albany, NY) to visit the Olana Historic Site in Hudson, NY, and have a nice lunch along the banks of the Hudson [...]
Random Childhood Story For a Gloomy Rainy Day
August 15, 2011
I should be working today. I have a zillion articles in my queue for two companies. But it’s raining. And damp. And gloomy. And I’m so tired. I don’t want to be productive today. I was already really productive last week. Can I be unproductive this week? So I’m procrastinating, reading some blogs that I [...]

July 4, 2011
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of PBM Products for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine. Have you moms and dads heard of Parent’s Choice Infant Formula Savings Sweepstakes? It’s a “generic” brand of baby formula that costs a fraction of the price of the fancy name-brand baby formula. The Parent’s [...]
A Review of the S107G Gyro Helicopter Toy
June 5, 2011
The boys were pretty excited to get a remote controlled helicopter in the mail! This model is the S107G Mini Gyro Remote Controlled Helicopter by Syma, sold by Xenon Project online. It’s got 3 channels, which is helpful to avoid radio interference (of which we have in our town). The toy costs about $25 (shipping [...]
Random Toodles #456
May 27, 2011
My son has been doing a very intense writing course in English. The book has him do maybe a dozen little paragraphs every day. He’s tired of writing paragraphs (even though I tell him that’s what I do all day long, too!) and his writing has become a bit droll. As I was proofreading another [...]
Frugal Alert! Baby Products Coupons and Deals
April 23, 2011
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of PBM Products for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine. I thank God every day that my four kids are out of diapers and off baby food. MAN oh man, that stuff was expensive. I have seen prices go up and up, and I wonder [...]
Kidzmet: Banishing Cookie Cutter Tutoring
April 5, 2011
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Kidzmet for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine. This is an extremely interesting organization: Kidzmet. You all know how I rail and rant about “cookie cutter” public schools. I attended several of these kinds of schools, and was never happy in them. Typical schools [...]
Resource: Find Kids’ Activities in Your Area
January 28, 2011
OH WOW. I just found a goldmine of a resource, moms and dads. It’s ActivityTree.com. I just searched for activities in my area, and my little town and surrounding area showed up 12 current activities for kids! ActivityTree is a resource for parents. When you search by zip code, you will see results for kid’s [...]

I’m a married mom with 4 kids. We live in Upstate New York in an old 1855 house with our five pets (yes, five, *sigh*). Life is never dull, and exciting things just seem to always happen to me... why me... when I'm not running around the house fixing things, I do freelance writing and blogging. My work and opinions have appeared in Salon.com, USAToday, eHow.com, iMedia.com, the Associated Press and I've even been interviewed by TIME and The Wall Street Journal about blogging. Can you believe it?! Here is where I express my zany, creative, motherly side.
