The website is GeekAlerts.com. Isn’t that such a cool name??? GeekAlerts shows the best of the best geek gadgets, but don’t think they limit themselves to stuff for geeks. Some of the gifts are very practical, and others are outright hilarious! These are some of my favorites:

This is a waterproof iPad case. It’s perfect to wrap your iPad into if you are going to the beach, hiking in the woods, etc. I love it! GeekAlerts.com also has a long list of Apple Store promo code for Apple products. I wish I’d known about this site when I got my iPad.

The site also features a whole bunch of other iPad cases. I absolutely loved this one– it’s a wall-mount case! I could definitely use it because I like to watch the weather and news in the kitchen, but I hate having the iPad on the counter (I’m a rather sloppy cook). I love this case!

OK, THIS is for the GEEK. I don’t know what it is about bloggers and bacon, but there’s some kind of running gag with bacon this and bacon that. I’ve even seen bacon-flavored chapstick and sneakers that look like bacon, etc. Very funny! How about giving the resident geek some bacon-flavored toothpaste?

These cookie cutters are SO COOL. If I had any gumption to throw a big birthday bash for my sons, I’d get these and we’d have cookies instead of cake. I’d let the boys decorate their own cookies. It would keep the little urchins busy for HOURS, muahahaha!!

This is PERFECT for Father’s Day! I can’t believe I am late in finding this site. It’s a “bulletproof” USB key ring. No pansy plastic for the DAD. This is what I’m talking ’bout!

I could go on and on about all the quirky and delightful things they showcase. I think it’s a great place to get ideas for unique gifts. GeekAlert.com also has loads of coupons, including a page for ThinkGeek coupons for the “uber geek.”

It’s fun to peruse the gadget ideas. I think I am going to get that iPad case!

There are two caveats. One, you have to share your email address. This isn’t a big deal to me, as I have a webmail address that I use for this purpose. The Save Path Terms of Service say that they will never share your email or personal information with third parties, but they may use statistics from users for marketing purposes. I don’t think that’s bad, but be sure to always use a webmail account (which are free) for any magazine or coupon site.

Secondly, Save Path offers coupons for major cities only, currently. The closest city they have for me is Syracuse, 60 miles away. Save Path is good if you live close to a major city. They say you can save nearly 90% off stuff at local businesses (restaurants, stores, etc).

Check it out if you are so inclined. Save Path does try to simplify the coupon hunt!

BUT… the deals that are online are always sooo good. I am thinking of changing my modus operandus with shoe purchases. My retail shoe stores are rather expensive, and I ALWAYS seem to get what I pay for there (that is, poor service and poor quality). I had purchased a pair of sneakers (on sale) for only a few months ago– very pricey sneakers for half off the retail price! But already the treads are shredded and water seeps into the treads. Unbelievable! And I don’t wear shoes a whole lot, either, since I work from home. :-p I’m not a happy camper. They were a nice “name brand” shoe, too. Sheesh, if I’m going to spend moolah on shoes I may as well get something that lasts longer than 3 months!! Bad!

So I’m considering buying shoes online. The coupons are just so good, too good to pass up. There’s the Boot Barn Coupon, a 6pm Coupon, and another Shiekh Shoes Coupon, although I’ve never heard of that particular store. Usually, coupons get you a good discount or free shipping. Plus, products online do tend to be less expensive than the retail stores. I know that some stores also have good return policies with 100 percent satisfaction guaranteed and all that jazz.

I usually try to keep my eye on good computer deals…. Dell seems to be having some kind of sale (at least in retail stores). Even the computers with the pricey Core i3, 15, and i7 processors are listed for good prices. I tend to be an HP gal, but the Dell prices had me thinking… hmmm….

Anyway, whatever you do, ALWAYS check for coupon codes, especially Dell coupon codes when looking for a Dell! I have saved loads of money when I’ve used codes. There are a lot of coupon websites out there, but many have old codes or reader-submitted codes that don’t always work. You have to do a little research and find a reliable code vendor, like DellaDeals.com. Sometimes the computer manufacturer will actually release codes for email subscribers (but I always find that I get those codes AFTER I’ve already made my purchase! :-p)

Anywho, Dell coupons are hot and Dell computers are hot right now. If you’ve been looking for a good deal on electronics, there ya go.

The companies like to distribute coupon codes and notify you of sales and promotions before releasing sale information to the general public. Need office supplies like promotional pens, calendars, sticky notes, etc? Or just have a hankering for personalized mousepads, t-shirts, checks, or coffee mugs? My favorite online promotional supply store is Vistaprint. I’ve been doing business with them for over four years now, ever since a young man showed me his business card and told me where he got it printed. The nice thing about shopping at a place like Vistaprint is that there are scads of Vistaprint coupon codes on the web. There’s a new-er coupon website I have discovered, and they have LOADS of Vistaprint coupons, not to mention scads of other coupons for store like BestBuy, Dell, Office Depot, Walmart, etc– all the “biggies.”

I absolutely LOVE coupon codes. They are always free to use and will save you some bucks. Sometimes the savings may be free shipping, or other times it may be a certain discount on electronics or clothing or whatever. Coupon websites like BestOnlineCoupons.com have things well organized so you can search by store, category, new coupons, expiring or “hot” coupons. And, of course, they have a mass of very nice Vistaprint coupons.

Remember- always check out the coupon codes website before making a purchase! You can save a lot of money.

Well, at least you can save some money when you get your Apple stuff. Here’s a site where you can get notifications of Apple Store coupon codes. Apple coupons are a little difficult to locate, I think. I did a little digging, but didn’t find the sites until now.

My budding musician sons (and their dad) want to get Garage Band software for making their own music. OK, sure. BUT Garage Band won’t work on PCs… so that means I’d need to get a Mac. :| Oh my word, those things are pricey. Ouch. I’m going to have to save up for that one, guys. But I’m going to MAKE SURE that I use a handy dandy Apple coupon code when I do.

The websites also have coupons and codes for other stores and stuff, too. And some deals include free shipping. They also have links to refurbished products directly from the Apple Store– you can save a TON of money that way. Refurbished items are products that are used and have been returned; Apple fixes them up and adds new parts if necessary, tests them out and sells them again. Usually the warranty on refurbished products is the same as for new products (although ALWAYS read the fine print before you buy it). I have purchased a few refurbished items and have had no problems with them. I also sometimes buy “display models” for deep discounts, too. With a coupon code, you can really save the money.

The websites offer more than just baby stuff. There’s Magic Grip Jar Openers (I’ve GOT to get some of those) and a free Ben & Jerry’s cone! :D Lots more– health and beauty aids, mp3 downloads, travel guides, pet foods, etc. AllFreeSamples also has very nice articles, too, organized by category. In the Home & Garden section there are very good tips on gardening with coffee grounds, edging a lawn, etc. It’s a frugal hack’s paradise!

Usually when you sign up for freebies, you have to give over some information like your name, address, and email, etc. I always recommend that you read the privacy policy of the site, and use a webmail email address, too. I’ve had very good success with freebie sites, though, and I sure don’t mind any extra coupons they send me, either!
