They’ve been talked about everywhere– on blogs, consumer news shows, Clark Howard, etc. Zenni sells prescription eyeglasses online for dirt, dirt cheap prices. I was going to order new glasses earlier this year, but decided to wait until after the renovation (I didn’t want to ruin the news ones). Now I have to wait for the prescription thing. The eye doctor I went to just wrote “same” on my prescription chart. What a jerk. Same as what?! My ten year-old, scratched up, busted up glasses?! How am I supposed to get new ones with “same” on the chart?

I refused to buy new glasses from that office ($250 for a pair of glasses?!?!?! Every year?!?!). Not while Zenni is around. If I don’t get my prescription chart cleared up, I may as well spen $50 of my own money and get a new exam from someone else, and then go to Zenni. It would STILL be cheaper than buying new glasses from the optical department. Yow.

NOT FUN. I always got called “four eyes.” :-p Kids can be so mean. But now, in these modern times, lots of people wear glasses! And glasses have come a loooong way, believe me!

In the 80s, I had these knock-out, gorgeous looking red glasses. Yeah, they were plastic frames, and they were the typical over-sized lenses (but they weren’t the whopper size that so many wore back then). I looked GOOD, baby! I’ll admit it. I have dark hair, dark eyes, and an olive complexion– those red glasses looked great.

I don’t know what happened to them, they must be packed away somewhere in this house. Of course, my prescription changed. I think I wore those things out. I had to get a replacement (and I was NOT going to repair the frames with duct tape, I don’t care how geeky fashion was getting). I got new glasses with gold-colored wire frames. I like them enough, but I do long for the nice red color again.
