Oh my gosh, this video (link below) is so funny that I just HAD to try it!! I got to “virtually” sit on Santa’s lap! Think he’ll give me my request? ;)

I got it in writing; Santa had better follow through or he’ll be hearing from my lawyers. I saw Miracle on 34th Street, and my expectations are pretty high!

This is a sweepstakes sponsored by the friendly, generous folks at CEIVA Logic, Inc. It’s the CEIVA Digital Photo Frame Got a Wish Sweeepstakes. It’s really cute. The video is very well done. Even Santa’s lawyer chimes in! You can see the video here (opens in another window).

The CEIVA Digital Photo Frame is the latest in digital photo frame technology. It’s very, very impressive, actually. The video explains how it works (and I think they put the video together very well– it’s hilarious!). The photo frame connects with your family’s gadgets to deliver instant photos, anywhere in the world. It’s really amazing how it works. There’s even a photo of me in Santa’s workshop, rofl!

The sweepstakes are eligible to anyone over the age of 18 living in the 50 United States and D.C. Sorry– elves, reindeer, and their families are not eligible. There’s a daily prize of $500, chosen randomly every day until December 24th. What you do us upload a photo of yourself, enter your birthdate, and your personal information. You can enter once a day, every day. See the sweepstakes terms (go to the main page and click “Sweepstakes Rules” at the bottom) for more information about it. Belief in Santa is not mandatory to win. LOL!!

I hope you’ve been nice! ‘Cuz if you’re naughty, Santa will find out! :-p

According to Margie and Edna, those encyclopedic marvels of trivial matters, today is National Grouch Day! Wooo! I think I’m going to have a party.

I have some great ideas for the party, tell me what you think:

1. Use mushy, over-ripe bananas as little party-favor trumpets! The kids will love it!
2. Have jelly beans only in black and green!
3. Serve cake and ice cream with no silverware!
4. Hire a band and have them play only elevator music!
5. Invite all your friends who are currently sick! Place those little Kleenex packages on their plates for the extra-special touch!
6. Use garlic powder instead of sprinkles on the cupcakes!
7. Blow the balloons too full of air, so they POP when you brush against them!

Sounds like a party fit for the day, eh? Happy Grouch Day! Until next year!

P.S. WHO comes up with these ideas for national holidays, anyway?!

Hurrah! Today is one of my most favorite holidays, after Thanksgiving. It’s the Fourth of July- also known as Independence Day- here in the United States. Hurray hurray!!! I just love this day. I am so patriotic that when I cut my finger, red, white, and blue comes out. Ha! I come from a long line of patriots, from a Mayflower Compact signer to a Battle of Lexington soldier to a ME!

The very last part of the Declaration of Independence says:

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.

That’s something to think about. These guys pledged EVERYTHING for this idea of liberty. And liberty didn’t mean the freedom to do whatever you want to do– it is the freedom to do as you ought. On this day, we honor the Americans who devoted their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor for this cause. It is because of them that we are free. And I love freedom! Hurray!

I wrote a short post about the Declaration on my other blog, New York Traveler.net.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go eat a hamburger and read the Declaration of Independence. I encourage you to read it, too!
