The Cisco Kid

July 23, 2008

Yes, I’m old. There was a time when we used to go to something called “college” to get educated for a career. Now– there’s the Internet! 😀 Gotta love it. For a fraction of the price and in the comfort of one’s own home, viola! A career is built! What was once impossible to, say, the average housewife, has now been made fully possible. It’s like a whole new world has opened up.

I’ve been mulling over my choices recently, and tried out a few things here and there. Now that my kids are older, they require less “maintenance.” I want to blossom into a career of sorts. However, because of my disability, I cannot obtain a traditional 9-to-5 education out of the home. That’s why I’m so happy to see more things opening up to me. I have a natural interest in technology, especially in social networking and website design and maintenance. And, as all you peeps know, I like to be on the cutting edge of everything. 😉 But many jobs require certification. Once again, the Internet rides to the rescue! How about Cisco certification? Sounds very cool, does it not? Cisco is a huge corporation, and they have a highly-professional and advanced IT training program. And I love how the network specialists have their very own inclusive network, with online support and solutions, discussions by the pros, and even a job search feature. The only limit is one’s own hesitations– the Internet and Internet networking is changing the world. I once thought an IT career was a “fad” for the youngsters, but now I see that it’s a real career with a huge horizon. If you’re interested in starting a stellar career in IT, check out Cisco certification programs.
