Well, it’s been another whirlwind of a week. I’m ignoring this blog pretty well, aren’t I? Things in “real life” will soon calm down and I’ll be posting more regularly in the near future. With me, new things always seem to come in avalanches. Just so you know, my friends, I DO READ your blog posts. I have you guys in my feed reader on my mobile phone. It’s very difficult to comment on the tiny thing, so that’s why it seems I am absent. But I’m not.
I dropped about 15 pounds these past two weeks, after a severe biliary colic (read: gallstones) attack had me down for a while. I’m on a raw food diet (which I have kept up pretty well until yesterday when I had some broiled salmon) and I haven’t had a recurrence of the pain. Tonight, for the first time in 2 weeks, I’m drinking coffee. I’m resigned to drinking it black for the rest of my life. No more milk for me. No more granulated sugars, either. Previously, I had tried a bit of coffee with homemade almond milk and organic agave nectar… *shudder* I’d rather drink it black.
For two nights in a row, I’ve had dreams about kittens and puppies. Could it have been the raw salmon and tuna I had? In one the dreams, I got to pick out a new Tabby-point Siamese. It was a good dream.
No kitteh could top my beautiful Livvy. She’s my baby. But it would be nice to have another little one in the house someday.
I am now an official employee of the United States Post Office. I took my oath of office (to defend the U.S. Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic), was fingerprinted and had my photo taken for my badge. I CAN’T WAIT to start the job. Of course, jobs at the USPS are kinda scarce, so it was a real miracle I got in. The hours are only part time and I’m a non-career employee. There are a heck of a lot of “non-careers” today. Is anyone hiring full-time at all, anymore? Anyway, I’m going in for training the nest few weeks.
Working at home was OK, but I couldn’t handle the high taxes, the reams and reams of April 15th-related paperwork, and the stress of my clients pulling out at the last minute. I do still have a few contracts but I will be focusing less on them. I’m really happy to have an outside-of-the-home job. It means less maniacal blogging, but I think my blogging will become more for ME than for anything work-related. I hope to enjoy it more again.
Finally, I spotted this smiling character while driving through an Upstate NY town. Cute!
