Twitter Asp-irations

Culture, Freaky

If you’ve been following the news (of which I haven’t much), apparently a 20-inch long deadly venomous cobra escaped the Bronx Zoo last Friday, and has not been found yet.

truuussssstttt innn meeeeee......

The Bronx Zoo dudes think that the deadly venomous cobra is lurking somewhere within the zoo, but can’t be SURE.

Once the snake gets hungry or thirsty enough to leave its hiding place, workers will have their best opportunity to recover it, Breheny said. In the meantime, the Reptile House remained closed indefinitely.

The missing cobra is an adolescent of its hooded species, which is believed to be the type of snake that was called an asp in antiquity. Cobra bites can be deadly if not treated properly, but the snakes aren’t likely to attack people unless the reptiles feel threatened, according to a fact sheet on the San Diego Zoo’s website.

Well, apparently NO ONE at the zoo uses Twitter, because the deadly venomous cobra has been updating with tweets!!! LOLOLOL!!! She has her own Twitter account, Bronx Zoo’s Cobra. OMG the tweets are hilarious!!

Good morning! I’m up and bright eyed and bushy…well, I’m tailed.

If you see a bag of peanuts inexplicably moving along the ground at Yankee Stadium today. Just ignore it. It’s probably nothing.

Just regurgitated my iPhone. Oh, it’s ssso on now. You’ll never guess what’s coming.

This tweet is in parseltongue: Tehy are wtahcnig me colsey so I hvae to sepak in cdoe. If yuore raednig tihs sned cpuackes and bgales.

“Indiana Jones, why did it have to be Indiana Jones?”

On top of the Empire State Building! All the people look like little mice down there. Delicious little mice.

What’s REALLY hilarious is that the deadly venomous cobra has 229,000+ followers on Twitter!!! And she’s following only one– The Bronx Zoo. ROFL!

So New York is all abuzz with the Twitter account. It’s pretty funny.

But hey…. has, uh, anyone actually found the cobra… yet? :holycow:

Well, at least we all know what to do when we see it! šŸ˜‰

Stand REEEEEALLY still, morph into a sinister face, and SLOOOOWLY spread out your arms and legs as wide as you can, all the while breathing slowly, deeply, gratingly. Then… hiss really really loud. Repeat process until the venomous reptile is subdued.

Or, if you know how to play the flute, there’s a whole other trick, there! Just keep one on you!

Oh, great, this will help the flute companies; soon everyone in Utica will have a flute with a spare one and a little book on soothing snakes. They have yours truly to thank. šŸ˜€
