Vacation By the Beach?

June 1, 2012

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Newport Beach for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

About this time last year, we took a wonderful vacation to Virginia. The kids got to see the Atlantic Ocean for the first time. Oh, how I love the ocean! Someday, I hope to treat them to the Gulf of Mexico and to the Pacific, Lord willing. Newport Beach is especially beautiful this time of year, I hear. I checked the website (click the link for a look) and right now it's a sunny 60 degrees! Look how beautiful it is!

The more I watch that video, the more convinced I am that I need a vacation. 😉

I've never been west of Pennysylvania and someday (someday soon) we really hope to travel "out west" on a road trip. It's been our dream for a long time. is one of the best tourism websites I've seen. It has a lot of quirky "off the beaten path" kind of stuff. I love the "Things to Do" tab. One of the main problems with so many tourism websites is that they have lots of photos and ads for hotels, but they hardly ever list some things to do. The kids get bored if there's nothing to do… Me, I would probably just flop on the beach and watch the ocean waves and the sunsets. THAT's a vacation, peeps. Ah.

Oh, the website does have loads of hotel offers, though (always a plus!). The Hyatt Regency Newport Beach hotel looks beautiful, and they have a sweet promotion for larger families— buy a room at full price and get a connecting room for the kids at 50 percent off! It's called the Family Plan (check it out at the Newport Beach or call 800-233-1234). The website also list kids summer camps and other activities. Hey, how about some surfing, dude?

Do you have any plans this summer? What is your dream vacation?
