I got the day off today (New Year’s Day). My mind almost always wanders to the blog when I have a day off or any scrap of free time, but I feel tongue-tied for content. It seems life has reached a bit of a monotony right now: sleep, work, sleep, work… it’s not that I am bored or don’t like what I do… it’s just monotonous right now. That’s OK, I’m not complaining! Monotony can be a good thing sometimes.
Monotony can be, however, fatal to blogs.
I have already taken down a handful of old ones. I just didn’t justify paying for the domains and fees when I can no longer maintain them.
Anyway, enough about this stuff. What’s NEW, what’s happening, man?!
I am still at my current job, but am still also looking for additional work. Several months ago, my full-time hours went to part-time. My (then) boss promised me that I could find vast opportunities to fill in elsewhere, so I hung on… but that boss is gone and the promised opportunities never materialized. So, I’ve been looking for stuff elsewhere. Nothing yet. MAN, it’s hard to find a full-time job, let alone a job that pays more than minimum wage. But I know I will find something when it’s the right time. I’m patient and will wait.
See how boring my life is now that all I blog about are job opportunities?! LOL. And I can’t write about specifics because a.) I’ll get fired, and b.) last thing I want to do is feed the surveillance machine that seems to have overtaken our country. Ugh.
Maybe sometime I’ll get back into blogging. I’m not ready to eliminate it entirely. I will still keep up my travel and home blogs, and this one. I have some pretty good posts in those archives, ya know. When I get a “round tuit* I hope to convert some of those old posts into book form, for posterity, so that when I am old I can tell my great-grandkids how weird I was as a youth, blogging about crop circles, NASA wanting to strike the moon, and drunken aliens, spider wars and more spider wars. Oh yeah, and I’ll tell them how the government tried to hack into my website and how I got media attention when I grumbled about regulatory laws… yeah, the good old days…
So I haven’t given up the ghost yet. Not yet.
I’ll be bahk.
By the way, how have you all been?!?!
